The Challenge

Position Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages as the go-to choice beverage for BBQ freaks throughout Texas. With the release of Texas Monthly’s Top 50 BBQ Joints list in 2021, this timing provided a perfect opportunity for a tie between Coca-Cola Southwest Beveragegs and the best in Texas barbecue.

Focused on classic ‘cue knowledge and hearing all of the best barbecue secrets, tips, and tricks; this series visited the passionate barbecue experts lined up outside these joints to get their take on these burning questions. This series was heavily promoted on TexasMonthly.com, as well as through custom Texas Monthly print advertorials, influencer platforms, and social platforms.

Our Solution

Texas Monthly Studio created a custom native video series on TexasMonthly.com that provided the perfect way to get in front of the barbecue community. Sponsored by Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, these “BBQ Cooler Talks” invited viewers along for a trip around the best barbecue joints in the state with Texas host Chet Garner.
